Join us Thursday November 17th at 6:30 pm as we welcome Mark H. Parsons and Wendelin Van Draanen to the store to discuss the writing process and sign “The 9:09 Project” and “The Peach Rebellion”.
Mark Parsons is a longtime nonfiction writer who’d authored over 200 articles for national publications and a pair of nonfiction books when he realized Wendelin was having way more fun writing children’s books, so he transitioned to writing fiction. His first YA novel, Road Rash (Random House) was named to the ALA’s Best Fiction for Young Adults list, and his upcoming novel, The 9:09 Project will be released on Nov. 15 from Delacorte/Random House.
Wendelin Van Draanen is the award-winning, bestselling author of over 30 books (all with Knopf/Random House… and all with the same editor!) including Flipped, The Running Dream, The Sammy Keyes Mystery Series, Runaway, Wild Bird, two four-book series for younger readers, and her nonfiction book for emerging writers, Hope In The Mail -- Reflections on Writing and Life. (Flipped was made into a Warner Brothers feature film, directed by Rob Reiner) Her newest novel, The Peach Rebellion, was published this spring and has gained popularity as a women’s book club selection.
This event is free to attend and will be held in the courtyard at DIESEL, A Bookstore in Brentwood.
